Microplastics

 

For inquiry, we had to get in a group of 4 and make a presentation on microplastics. We had to explain the meaning and definition of microplastics and how they affect our environment, and 3 solutions to stop microplastics from getting into our fish and ocean. Importance of Water

 

For inquiry this term we are learning about the importance of water and how our waterways work. This task was fun because it's important to learn about how our world works and how we can improve our current problems. I did this task with Daisy because we were able to go in pairs, the topics we chose were pollution, groundwater, and microplastic. We also thought we would add a glossary just because we thought it was necessary. These problems that we have in New Zealand are getting bigger and thought we would learn how to have an impact on helping save the world and all the animals that are getting affected by it too. Math baking

For math, on Tuesday we decided to bake to work on our measurement, I was in a group with Daisy, Neiva, Sienna, and lucy. We made rice Krispy treats but they didn't turn out well and looked really bad. We don't have the photo yet but we dipped them in melted chocolate and covered them in sprinkles but they went all over the tray instead of the treats. matariki maori new year art

 For art, we were assigned to complete a piece of Matariki art that showed all 7 stars along with its mountain and river. As soon as I sketched the design I wanted I went and drew it on a piece of foam. After I imprinted the design into my foam I colored it. I choose the colors black and purple because I thought that would look the best with my design. I drew mountains and a river below it, the reason why I drew this is because I liked the look of the mountains and how the river surrounded them below. The reason the image was inverted is that when you press it down onto the paper it would be the wrong was.

For math yesterday we had to describe what Area, Perimeter, and volume are.  

Pizza place math question

For maths today we worked on our question that we had to explain yesterday, I did the pizza place question which we worked out a couple of days ago, but today we extended the question and added one more thing onto the question to extend it and make it more intresting. HunderWasser art

 

For art we had to create our own HunderWasser art. First we had to draw some of the main things and then we had to sketch out the design we wanted. After that we copied our design onto the good piece of the paper and coloured in with pastels. We weren't allowed to draw straight lines and it had to all be different colours.
